DHYS Senior Families,

As you know DHYS is in close contact with DeKalb County to determine if, when, and under what conditions organized activities will be permitted at Medlock Park this Fall.  This has already caused a delay starting our Fall program.

In order to respond to these issues for our Senior League, DHYS is partnering with Dunwoody Senior Baseball for the Fall 2020 Season.  This will allow the Senior League to move forward without further delay and provide some additional and exciting opportunities as explained below.

Evaluations: Senior League Evaluations will be held at Kelly Cofer Park beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday August 22.  Players will be evaluated in small groups in order to avoid crowds at the park and maintain social distancing.  Once we have a final registration list, we will email families with each player's specific evaluation time.  Please e-mail me at   if you are available to help at evaluations.  Even with small groups, evaluations should be completed by 2:30.

Teams: Following evaluations, we will draft teams composed of DHYS players.  These teams will practice together at Cofer likely starting the weekend of August 29-30 and play in Dunwoody Senior Baseball's League for the Fall 2020 season.  DHYS teams will not only play each other but also the other teams in Dunwoody Senior Baseball's lower league.

Season Schedule:  The ten-game season will start Tuesday September 7 and run through Sunday November 1 with 1-2 games per week.  Games will be Monday through Thursday nights starting at 5:30 and 8:00 and on also the weekends.  Games will be played at Kelly Cofer and at the Brook Run Baseball Fields 4635 Barclay Dr, Dunwoody, GA 30338.  We have arranged it so that all weeknight games that start at 5:30 and involve DHYS teams will be at Kelly Cofer (typically on Wednesdays).

Managers:  We need you.  We currently have more players signed up than we have volunteers to manage.  This is going to be an exciting and competitive season where we will be playing different teams at new locations -- and we are grateful to be playing baseball at all!  By volunteering to manage you make this possible for our players.  Without you it does not happen.  Please contact me ( ) and let him know you can help.

COVID:  We will be playing in a DSB League and not a DHYS league so their Coronavirus policies will apply.  These policies can be found on their website (  The City of Tucker is allowing DHYS to use Kelly Cofer Field on the condition that we comply with their coronavirus policies.  Where the City of Tucker's policies are more stringent than Dunwoody Senior Baseball's policies, the more stringent policies will control.  We are working through those issues now and will provide further details before the first practice.

Registration: You are receiving this email because you already completed the no-cost registration for the Fall 2020 Senior Season.  Because Senior League is moving forward, we recently added a charge for the registration fee ($250) to your accounts and sent you an e-mail to that effect. In order to complete your registration and confirm your spot for the season, please log in to your account and pay the registration fee on or before August 19, 2020.  Players who have not completed the registration process by logging back in and paying the registration fee by August 19 will be presumed to be no longer interested in playing this season and will not be added to the league.  The registration fee will cover your player's enrollment in the Fall 2020 Season at Dunwoody Senior Baseball as well his uniform.  There may be additional documents you will have to e-sign for Dunwoody Senior Baseball, but there will be no additional cost.

Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions.
